Comparative analysis of stress distributions and displacements in rigid and flexible pavements via finite element method

چکیده

In many countries of the world, rigid and flexible pavements are widely used. Some external factors such as stresses displacements play major role in design pavement layers coating, base sub-base. Although empirical formulas methods were used calculation layers, complexity today's transportation engineering demands effectiveness diminished. Nowadays complex problems can be easily simulated solved thanks to higher analysis capabilities computer-aided softwares. this study, stress distributions examined under traffic loads with different coating layer thicknesses (30 mm, 50mm, 70mm, 100 150 mm) by using finite element method. As a result, vertical displacement obtained 5% than pavements. Based on distribution results, values 60% lower Moreover, It was determined that remain layer, while reach addition, regression models have been developed predict thicknesses. High correlation determination coefficient (> 0.90) achieved based both

Non Linear Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced and Unreinforeced Pavements

In this research a comprehensive finite element program was developed in order to carry out an elasto perfectly plastic analysis of geogrid reinforcement of a model pavement. Qualitative agreement is seen between the numerical results and experiment. The results indicate the influence of geogrid in reduction of vertical deformation of pavements. It is also seen that for strong subgrade, the opt...

Effect of Abutment Angulation and Material on Stress and Strain Distributions in Premaxillary Bone: A Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis

Background and Aim: Dental implants with angled abutments are often inserted in the anterior maxillary region due to the status of the residual ridge and aesthetic considerations. The purpose of this study was to assess stress and strain distributions in the premaxillary bone around dental implants by means of finite element analysis (FEA). Materials and Methods: Four three-dimensional (3D) fi...

Correcting the stress-strain curve in hot compression test using finite element analysis and Taguchi method

In the hot compression test friction has a detrimental influence on the flow stress through the process and therefore, correcting the deformation curve for real behavior is very important for both researchers and engineers. In this study, a series of compression tests were simulated using Abaqus software. In this study, it has been employed the Taguchi method to design experiments by the factor...
